Top position and this year’s Miles Franklin winner is “The Labyrinth” by Amanda Lohrey which sold 1,462 copies (+192). Sarah Winman’s, “Still Life” came in second with 1111 sales (-140). This was top seller for June but dropped to fourth last month.

“So You Think You Know What’s Good for You?” by Norman Swan moved from first position to third selling 821 copies (-864).

Three new titles take the top Best Seller positions this month.  “So You Think You Know What’s Good for You?” by Norman Swan is a one-stop handbook designed to settle fruitless anxieties and allow people to focus on what matters to them. This had the most sales with 1,685. “Across the Sea (Wolf Girl #5)” is another offering in the popular Worlf Girl series by Anh Do. This sold 1,274 copies.

Third position and the Miles Franklin winner for 2021 is “The Labyrinth” by Amanda Lohrey which sold 1,270 copies.

Many new titles have joined the Best Seller list this month. “Still Life” by Sarah Winman had the most sales with 1,069. “The Dictionary of Lost Words” by Pip Williams moved up again to second with 872 sales (-364). Coming in third was “Who Gets to Be Smart: Privilege, Power and Knowledge” Bri Lee’s latest offering by Allen and Unwin. This sold 793 copies.

“Toxic: The Rotting Underbelly of the Tasmanian Salmon Industry” by Richard Flanagan moved up from fifth to become May’s top seller with 1583 sales (+657).  “Klara and the Sun” dropped to second place with 1370 (-228) while “The Dictionary of Lost Words” by Pip Williams dropped one place to third with 1236 sales (-72).

Kazuo Ishiguro’s eighth novel, “Klara and the Sun” remained top of the list with 1,598 sales (-552).

“The Dictionary of Lost Words” by Pip Williams maintained second position with 1,308 sales (+139) while ‘Where’s Bluey?’ entered with 999 sales (one of four Bluey titles on the Best Seller list this month).

The eighth novel by the Nobel Prize-winning British writer Kazuo Ishiguro, “Klara and the Sun” which was published in March is the top of the list with 2,150 sales. 

“The Dictionary of Lost Words” by Pip Williams moved up another spot to second with 1,169 sales (+328) while ‘Shuggie Bain’ drops to third with 989 sales (-131).

2020’s Booker Prize Winning novel, ‘Shuggie Bain’ held top position in February with 1120 sales (- 658).

Charlie Mackesy’s, “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse” moved up from fifth to second position with 866 sales (-164) while “The Dictionary of Lost Words” by Pip Williams also moved up a couple of spots to third with 841 sales (-189).

2020’s Booker Prize Winning novel, ‘Shuggie Bain’ edged out Barack Obama’s ‘A Promised Land’ coming in first with 1778 sales (-2,410).

Jane Harper’s ‘The Survivors ‘ moved up from 5th position to 2nd with 1137 sales (-1,908). The author’s debut novel, ‘The Dry’ was very close behind with 1089 sales (+119), no doubt due to the recent cinematic adaption of the novel.

New to the list, A Promised Land by Barack Obama was number one for November selling 2,317 copies. According to Penguin this is a riveting, deeply personal account of history in the making—from the president who inspired us to believe in the power of democracy.

Trent Dalton’s All Our Shimmering Skies was close behind in second place with 2,231 sales (-2171).

 The 130-Storey Treehouse moved up from sixth place to third with 1916 sales (+347).
